There is a health fair called “A Healthy Sunshine Day for Special Children” being held on Saturday November 21st from 12pm to 6pm at the Sunshine Early Stimulation Centre, which is located in Perry Gap, Roebuck Street, St.Michael. This is being organised by a Lynora Hobbs who is a social work student at the University of West Indies.
The fair aims to give parents the tools needed to reduce the overall stressful impact that the introduction of Autistic Spectrum Disorders (ASD) can have on family in a fun and interactive environment. Parents can learn not only about the importance of healthy eating for their children but also about specialized diets such as the Gluten Free diet, that can be implemented to reduce symptoms of autism according to various studies
