It’s an early start for the Brighton Farmers Market held every Saturday at the Brighton Plantation, St George as the opening hours are 6:00 am – 10:00 am. It is worth the early start though as it has a great social scene and a great family atmosphere. As well as fresh fruit and vegetables, there are craft stalls, gourmet stalls and gluten free products too.
Go and experience a delightful breakfast on the grounds of a beautiful plantation with a beautiful view of the St George valley.
Wondering where to get your gluten free breakfast? Fancy a spot of late lunch? Last minute dinner plans? Below lists the opening times of the cafes that serve gluten free food by each day. All of these are marked on the map on my website. Click on the names for more details about the cafes too. Eat and enjoy!
Shelly Gellineau provides a lunch delivery service 3 times a week. She creates and delivers healthy food, gluten free bread and dips/spreads. I implore you to look at her Facebook page and salivate at the photos of her delicious food.

The Good Life is a Vegan Cafe located in Rockley, Christ Church that serves amazing salads, wraps, smoothies, shakes and sandwiches. The cafe has a great atmosphere with friendly staff. Great good healthy food at decent prices!
The Hastings Farmers Market is held every Saturday at The Art Splash Centre, centrally situated on the south coast. It’s a great local market with wide selection of local produce. The Juice Bar has gluten free waffles to help start your day before shopping too!
A wonderful raw juice bar has opened in the south coast of the island at the Quayside Centre in Rockley, Christ Church. As well as delicious juices, they do some amazing black bean brownies and raw cookie bars. An amazing way to start (or end) the day!
This lovely cafe is situated in the Simpson Motor Showroom which is in Warrens, St Michael. They offer some great gluten free wraps and lunches. Also a great place to have breakfast. They have great reviews on Trip Advisor for their coffee too. Pop in for a delicious lunch and look at cars…my ideal lunch!
Waves Beach Resort hotel is on the west coast of Barbados at Prospect Bay in St. James. Set on the beautiful coast with amazing views, the food is also fantastic and not one, but ALL the restaurants in this hotel cater for those requiring a gluten free diet. The reviews on Trip Advisor are great too and almost tempted me to book a week here (and I live on the island!!!). The hotel also welcomes residents of Barbados and visitors to the island to dine with them for lunch and dinner. The offerings for non-hotel guests still come inclusive of drinks, house wine and cocktails too!
The three restaurants to choose from are Seascape which offers an international selection and also has traditional Caribbean food, Rosso Vivo which has a range of Mediterranean food and Feast that serves tasty pan-Asian food. Not only is the food fabulous, the settings of the restaurant offer the visitor a feast for the eyes, as well as the taste buds.
